Values
Recruitment/Retention of Caregivers:
To bridge the faith-based community’s talents to the needs within the Texas Foster Care System, including all foster care stakeholders within every Texas County.
Values
- In all we do we will glorify God
- Exercise servant leadership - Demonstrates respect, believing that everyone can make a difference and contribute
- Lead with Integrity – Do the right thing and conduct our efforts with transparency, honesty and the highest standards of behavior and ethics. Avoid anything that would appear to be dishonorable or untruthful.
- Reflect the magnitude and excellence of God - Mediocrity is not acceptable.
- Seek wisdom
- Pursue innovative ideas with courage
- Honor the fundamental value and dignity of all individuals.
- We believe that the government was never intended to care for the orphans and that The Church has abandoned its demonstration of God’s heart for His children resulting in a chaotic and harmful foster care system.
- We believe that those who defend the fatherless and care for the orphan are demonstrating the same loving heart that God has for us.
- We believe that we are all given gifts/talents and when we invest those gifts/talents into the lives of others then our own lives are blessed.
Recruitment/Retention of Caregivers:
- 200% increase in fostering families in the State of Texas
- Establish and maintain networks of education, support and services to empower families caring for children in CPS care, near their residence and without financial burdens to the families.
- Every community in Texas will, with integrity of collection and distribution, provide goods and services in support of the children in CPS care (i.e., medical/dental, therapeutic, car seats, furnishings, clothes, school supplies, Christmas gifts, etc.).
- Foster families will be given access for their children in CPS care to enjoy “normal” childhood activities (i.e., summer camps, birthdays, graduations, proms, the ability to drive a car, spend the night with friends) as well as live “normal” lives within their homes (i.e., hire babysitters, travel on vacations, leave children overnight with relatives, carpool, engage in contact sports).
- Every child eligible for adoption will be placed into a loving adopting family within 12 months of their availability for adoption.
- Every foster care adoption will be completed within 12 months of adoption placement.
- Every foster youth over the age of 14 will have a committed mentor or support family that will provide ongoing support, encouragement and a sense of belonging through the “aging out” process while transitioning to adult independence.
- That there would be a continuum of opportunities throughout every region in Texas for foster alumni 18-26 years old whose single focus is to assist youth who have aged out of care (i.e., “Open Table” Mentoring, emergency shelters, basic life skill residential programs, internship/apprentice launch programs).
- Every Texas foster youth would lock-in their “Tuition/Fee Waiver” benefits by the age of 21.
- No foster youth would age out of the system and be left to the streets to experience homelessness, crime, addiction, prostitution, sex trafficking and/or prison.
- Family members willing to assist and provide a safe, stable and loving environment for another family member's child that has been removed and placed in CPS care will be included in receiving the same support and extended services as a non-relative foster caregiver.
